Senior Officer Contract
The position… The City of Melbourne requires a creative and inspirational leader to manage its diverse arts and culture portfolio. The position plays a vital role in enhancing the cultural infrastructure of the city and overseeing a branch that manages the cultural activities calendar, arts investments and other arts and culture projects and programs in the city.
You will have…
- A tertiary qualification an/or significant experience and proven achievement in arts management or a related field
- Demonstrated understanding of cultural development practice and implementation.
- Proven capacity to effectively implement contracts, funding agreements and grants processes to a high level of transparency and public accountability
- Strong team player, with the ability to demonstrate emotional intelligence and sound judgement whilst collaborating and cooperating on decisions and initiatives
- A record of achievement and innovation in people management and leadership in a dynamic and political environment, and creating an environment focussed on staff engagement, accountability and decision making
- Highly developed analytical and lateral thinking skills and the ability to take the initiative, drive changes and implement innovations
- Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and maintain business plans and associated budgetary and financial management requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills with the ability to use discretion and judgment in a complex business and political environment.
