The position… assists with the operation of the Office of Knowledge Capital’s Student Welcome Desk at Melbourne Airport. You will work with other members of the Office of Knowledge Capital Team and be responsible for providing support and guidance to the team of 7 volunteers, allocating duties, co-ordinating breaks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Welcome Desk. The position also requires an understanding of working with diverse cultural groups to ensure the accessibility of the City’s services and to increase opportunities for people of cultural, linguistic and religious diversity to participate and contribute to the life of the city.
You will have…
- Understanding of project operation principles and practice
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the needs and issues for international students
- Maintain a high level of customer service in a responsible, dependable and courteous manner
- Effective and flexible interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Flexibility in working hours including availability to work early morning and late evening shifts at Melbourne Airport
- Current drivers licence or ability to travel to Melbourne Airport to begin at 7am or finish at 11.30pm. (Transport will be provided from Southern Cross Station to Melbourne Airport upon request)
- Be able to complete a current Police Check - arranged and funded by the City of Melbourne.
The successful applicants will be required to undergo a Police check.
